This month Mojang have released a new game called Cobalt, yes it’s not even close to Minecraft but change is always good, right? You see this is Mojang’s first attempt at publishing someone else’s game; they have teamed up with the Swedish studio Oxeye.
Cobalt is a 2D shooter game with amazing graphics and lack of square blocks…
When I first looked at screenshots for Cobalt I instantly thought of Angry Birds, the buildings just made me think of the app- come on I can’t be the only one who sees it!

Is this the way Mojang are heading since being acquired by Microsoft studios?
We should all know who Jens Bergensten is; Jen has said “I’m super excited. I’m not sure if it’s a spoiler or not, but the ending of the story has potential to put Cobalt into ‘cult classic’ status.” I can understand this comment; it’s actually great to see game publishers and developers heading back to bare bone gaming.
(Wait…. did I just make up a saying?)
I could really see myself enjoying this game playing it as multiplayer online! But more of a casual play than wanting to play every day type game.
Cobalt is available on Xbox one, Xbox 360 and PC
Publisher: Microsoft studios/ Mojang
Developer: Oxeye Game Studio
