Do you use the same passwords for yourself or children across many different sites?

Did you know that it is important to use a different strong password for each site you use online?
Many people use the same password over many different sites since it’s easier to remember one password than many. It really is important to have different passwords for EVERY site you use- I keep the kids usernames, emails and passwords used offline by using this simple PDF, print it off and use for yourself or for the kids.
Why?
If you want to keep safe change your passwords that match others, it doesn’t matter if it’s one super strong password it can still be hacked. It’s not the worry your own computer will be hacked but the websites you have used to create an account could be hacked.
Once a hacker has accessed one company’s user database they move on. Hackers will use this information of usernames, emails and passwords to check other well known sites. That’s where it can get bad, if you used the same email and password for PayPal or other sites that could access your bank account or other sensitive personal information.
Password tips
Use long, strong passwords. 12 characters minimum
Use a different password for every login account you have
Use a the printable PDF so you don’t forget them, keep this paper safe
This week I want all my readers to go on all sites they use and make sure different passwords are being used for each site- if you need help remembering all the password, print out the PDF to write them down
