Seasonal Crafts via Fellowes

My kids and I are a crafty bunch but to be honest the craft we make never lasts long due to be torn or losing shape.

Today’s blog post Kidz B Kool will be using printable crafts from the Fellowes Ideas Centre which is jam packed with craft and organisational ideas for the kids, home and office.

Call me silly but I had no idea until recently that you could buy at home laminators. I’m so glad I have discovered that this is not the case and that laminating is affordable and easy to do at home.

I will be showing off my new Fellowes Spectra A4 laminator and at the end of this post, two lucky Kidz B Kool readers will have the chance to own their own!

Fellowes Spectra A4 Laminator

The key features of the Fellowes Spectra A4 Laminator:

  • A built-in release lever disengages the pouch to realign or remove your document during use.

  • Protect your documents from day 1 with an included 10 pouch laminating starter kit.

  • A sleeper mode activates itself after 30 minutes for a power efficient and safe design in case it has been left on and forgotten.

  • The Fellows spectra A4 laminator accommodates pages up to A4 with a pouch thickness of up to 125 microns to maintain a thin, flush output.

Oh so fancy! But to really show what this Fellowes Spectra A4 laminator can do were going to have to put it to work.

First things first you will need to find your own inspiration; Fellowes has you covered with their Idea centre HERE. I had the Kidz B Kool kids pick out a few of the Seasonal Craft Ideas in the Fellowes Idea Centre which had them colouring, pasting and having a great time. Oh and Monster- Mum had time for a quiet cuppa

With the kids all crafted out it is now time to set up for the Fellowes Spectra A4 Laminator which is so easy, all you need to do is turn on the power button on the side of the Laminator, wait for the light to turn and then you’re ready to go.

While waiting which doesn’t take long at all, you get out a pouch. The laminator came with 10 sheets but you can buy extras which you’ll need because you will want to laminate everything in sight.

How to laminate with fellowes

Open the pouch, place your document inside and close. Yes as simple as that, it was easy, unlike the old way I used to laminate my pages. Don’t laugh I used clear contact and ruined more than protecting. No stickiness like contact with the laminating pouches.

Once your laminated document has passed through the machine you’ll want to leave to cool for a few seconds on a flat surface.

So why do you need a at home laminator, there are many reasons but the main ones would have to be that the Fellowes Spectra A4 laminator guards against marks, tears and spills allowing you to maintain professional and sleek documents and photos for the home or home office.

I think sharing some ideas for laminating at home should help you decide if a laminator would help you and your family. By looking at the Fellowes Idea Centre you will have free already to print ideas to get you started.

Items I’m looking forward to making and laminating are:

  • Being able to laminate teaching resources that the kids can use white board makers on again and again

  • In an emergency card to add to my purse

  • Home command centre- to-do list, Calender, chore charts, menu plan. All can be wiped clean

  • A backseat driver’s licence for K- Monster

  • Pictures the kids create that I want to keep and protect

  • Reward cards

  • Recipe cards

  • Instructions- could be for the laundry or in the bathroom for kids

  • Pictures for family and friends as gifts

  • Organise my home with labels

  • Bookmarks

  • In the car games that can be wiped away

  • Picture shopping lists for the kids to mark off to keep them entertained during the weekly shop

  • Activity mats- like nots and crosses, mazes, dot-to-dot

  • Simple whiteboard

  • Luggage and school bag tags

  • I have newspaper clipping of family members that could be laminated so they don’t get torn or lost

  • Flash cards to help the kids with words and numbers

Yes I have many plans and can’t wait to show you all of them
